Our Origin

At Mt Kenya Tea Packers, we are dedicated to ensuring your satisfaction with every purchase.

    Our Origin

Our tea journey began in 1985, when the first tea bushes were planted on the fertile slopes of the Mount Kenya region. Over the years, this has grown into more than 25 acres of tea, cultivated in an environment defined by rich volcanic soils, high altitude, and favorable climatic conditions that support slow, consistent growth.

In 2010, we expanded into coffee farming, growing into a medium sizedl estate of about 15 acres of Arabica coffee. Our coffee consists of carefully selected varieties — SL-28, Ruiru 11, and Batian — known for their resilience, quality, and distinctive cup profiles.

This unique growing environment, combined with decades of cultivation experience, allows us to produce crops with depth, clarity, and character that reflect the true identity of the region.

    Our Farms & Sourcing

We operate our own farms within the Mount Kenya region, giving us direct control over cultivation practices and quality standards.

In addition, we work closely with a network of outgrowers, whom we actively support and manage through farm advisory and management services. This hands-on approach ensures that consistent standards are maintained across all farms we work with .

By combining estate-grown production with structured outgrower partnerships, we are able to offer both scale and consistency, while maintaining full traceability of our products.
